Here are just a few suggestions for ways in which the RE department at Foulstone school can make use of the innovative technology available at the CLCs. If you would like to explore the possibilities of these or any other technologies, please contact Stephen Quayle or Shirley Corns at the Foulstone CLC or Dean McFarlane or Claire Thorpe at the Holgate CLC for a preliminary chat.
RE Department
Macromedia Flash
Get your students to create animations that illustrate religious ideas such as
creation myths and parables.
iStop Motion
Use clay animation characters and voice over techniques to illustrate stories from
different religious traditions.
Digital Video
Let teams of students create documentaries that explore current religious issues.
Alternatively, let teams of students write, direct and act in their own short films
based on any of the topics you have covered this term.
Macromedia Dreamweaver
Get your students to collaborate to create professional looking web sites that
demonstrate their understanding of a particular religion and the beliefs systems
that underpin it.
Open Mind
This mind mapping tool would be particularly useful to illustrate the way in which
religious ideas, traditions and cultural identities are all connected. Alternatively, you
could get students to create mind maps that will act as revision tools later on
when they are preparing for exams.
Mediator 7
This powerful and easy to use multimedia authoring tool will allow your students
to create presentations that go way beyond Powerpoint and allow them to
produce CD ROMs and websites at the click of a mouse.
